Situated in northeastern Sardinia in the Gallura region and near the island of La Maddalena, Arzachena is one of the favourite destinations for a real luxury vacancy on luxury motor yacht charters. Its territory includes about 80 kmts of coastline and offers impressive views. At the end of the 50's, a group of international investors bought about 3000 hectares of this land and in 1962, the Costa Smeralda consortium was established. Today, as a result, Arzachena is one of the most well-known and popular tourist destinations of Emerald Coast (Costa Smeralda), offering visitors plenty of attractions, services, comforts and resorts. The sea's water is astonishingly transparent and clean with an array of astounding colours. You'll find both white, fine sand beaches and small bays accessible only from the sea. The underwater environment is also inviting and includes big groupers, dentex, amberjacks, red gorgonians, sponges and cnidarians.
 Arzachena is not only sea, but also wonderful woodlands and Mediterranean underbrush with its typical aromas of myrtle and juniper. The "stazzo" is a typical building in this part of Sardinia. It's an old, rural dwelling and its roof is made of reeds, juniper's branches and trunks. Nowadays many of them have been restored and transformed into holiday farm residences. Arzachena also has a very interesting history. In the south-western area called Capichera, you'll find the monumental "Tomba dei Giganti Coddu Vecchju" near the Nuraghe "La Prisciona". Another attraction are the "Li Muri Necropolis" and the "Tomba dei Giganti di Li Lolghi". Also to be mentioned is the Little Temple of Malchittu dating back to 1600 B.C. It's unique in that it is one of the only four examples of a megaron-shaped nuraghic temple (an elongated rectangle) in Sardinia.
