Just off the coast of Naples and Salerno, between Cape Miseno and Amalfi, a great rock soars like a dream lost in the cobalt blue sea that surrounds it. This Mediterranean jewel, yearned for and exalted in some of the world’s most famous lyric poetry, is the island of Capri. The intoxicating fragrance of flowers, delicate splashes of colour, recollections of a millennial past and a peaceful charm, shattered only by the shrill cry of seagulls, are just some of the magical qualities of this mythical isle. Punta Carena, Punta Ventroso, Punta Tragara, Punta della Chiavica, Punta del Monaco are only some of the most marked protrusions of this animated line of coast. However are different diverse the rocky arm which stretch towards the sea, drawing a scenery which, for its particularity and its beauty, is maybe the one in the world. Best way to appreciate the coast is of course a yachting holiday.
On Capri our thoughts become light, and float in infinity: only the blueness has weight and touches us. our eyes cannot contain its vast extent; we are annihilated before it. This paradise refound makes us wonder where we are, into what period of time we have fallen unawares. The marvel we can see below us, lapped by the sun-reflecting sea, is without doubt the most beautiful island in the world. with its faraglioni and its limestone cliffs rising sheer above the sea, riddled with the large caves which only increase their savage beauty; with its white houses covered with bougainvillea, its picturesque lanes and its world famous "Piazzetta".
