Finike is a not to be missed destination during the “Blue Cruise” on board on fascinating gullet along Turkish coast, with a perfect blend of history, nature and sea. The district draws attention with the ruins of Limyra and Arykanda both ancient cities. Finike was founded with the name of Phoinikos at the entrance of Aykiri (Arykandos) Brook in the 5th century B.C. It is supposed that the name 'Finike' comes from the Phoenicians who used the region as a trade centre. Finike is worth to a visit also because here you can meet your necessities concerning water, fuel oil and food and, if you wish, you can see the ruins of Limyra in Turunçova near by and also the ruins of Arykanda in Arif, situated a little higher. Limyra, the capital city of the region, was known as the harbour where the export of its agricultural produces was carried out. With hot and dry summers and warm and rainy winters, the Mediterranean Climate is dominant in the region, that’s why Finike is one of the favourite destinations during Turkish Coast Blue cruise on board on one of our wonderful gullets.
