Seven nice old places, seven citadels (Kastela - in English: Citadels), are an integral part of the tourist area between Split and Trogir. This region has been attracting people since ancient times, from ancient Greek seafarers, Roman patricians, Croatian kings and rulers, industrious fruit and vegetable growers to present-day tourists. Three picturesque places - Kastel Stafilic, Kastel Novi and Kastel Stari, are located along the 6-km long coast of the Kastela Riviera. They are one of favourite destinations of domestic and foreign tourists and for sailing yacht charters of this corner of Croatia Riviera. Visitor opportunities include bathing, sports and recreation, as well as entertainment programs. Kastel Luksic is a tourist resort in the central part of the Kastela Gulf, famous for the botanical garden with Mediterranean vegetation, as well as for nice pebble beaches. It has a 70-years-long tradition in tourism. The attractions of Kastel Kambelovac include nice beaches, numerous restaurants, a beautiful seaside promenade and the nearby hill Kozjak.
The eastern part of Kastela descends abruptly toward the sea, while the western part consists of a fertile plain (Veliko and Malo Polje; Big and Small Fields). Permanent sources are rare; the source Pantana springs out at the foot of Krban. Winters are mild and wet, and summers warm and dry; summer droughts occur frequently. Kastel Gomilica has nice sand beaches, suitable for children. Entertainment programs and dancing nights are regularly organized. The main festivity of the City of Kastela is the Municipal Day (4th of March). Sports and recreational facilities include tennis courts, as well as various playgrounds for basketball, football and volleyball. Water sports and diving equipment are rented. The eastern part of Kastela descends abruptly toward the sea, while the western part consists of a fertile plain (Veliko and Malo Polje; Big and Small Fields). Kastela is also one of our base for luxurury motor yacht charters, or sailing charters on board on luxury gullets towards all the most beautiful sites of Central Croatia.
