The stretch of coast to the east of Santa Teresa di Gallura is really special, with the beach of Porto Quadro, the promontory of Punta Falcone - which represents the northernmost boundary of Sardinia - and the wide bay of La Marmorata with its homonymous islets. The beach of La Marmorata, considered one of the most beautiful on the island, is a long beach with deep, fine sand, the splendid green and turquoise waters of the bay and the incomparable panorama with the bigger of the two islets of La Marmorata (hiding to the sight the other one) which holds the remains of a Roman granite quarry. By land Some roads off the state road lead to Cala Sambuco and to the beautiful beach Cala Balcaccia (which is reachable only on foot, covering a private lane, or by boat) as far as the Valle dell’Erica and the tourist village of Conca Verde. Beyond the peninsula Coluccia, which forms the narrow fjord of Porto Pozzo, there is the wide inlet of Porto Liscia. This is followed by Porto Puddu, in the territory of Palau, with the large beaches of the Liscia and Porto Puddu precisely, ideal for people fond of windsurf. However enjoing these places by sailing charter is another kind of vacation. Best places infact like in all Sardinia are reachable only by sea.
