Located at 25 km from the impressive Bonifacio, the city of Porto-Vecchio presents all the advantages of a seaside resort and shows some wonderful aspects that only its natural environment can reveal. Its age-old bastion and beautiful marina puts it in a strong position, it has a growing population and a prosperous tourist activity. During the last decades a drastic development helped it to overcome its isolation and now Porto-Vecchio appears among the best equipped areas of the island. Porto-Vecchio has thus become the third town of Corsica.
By going along the eastern coast from the Arch of Rondinara the Gulf of Santa Giulia appears, then more in the north, facing the Cerbicales Islands, the Palombaggia Beach appears. Then, after having passed the Chiappa "Tip", Porto-Vecchio progressively appears at the end of the Gulf which shelters it. From Porto-Vecchio, by climbing the coast towards Solenzara the Bay of Pinarello opens.
