The new Port of Rome  is built on the beach of Ostia. The port is a completely new Marina for pleasure boats only. This scope of work consisted of construction of more than 800 berths for 8 to 60-meter long boats, a 350-ton capacity travel lift, a 70-meter bunkering berth and an exclusive Yacht Club. The port is layed out so that all small boats are located on the east side and large boats on the west side. The port entrance was designed to be in the center of the project in order to minimize the impact of the waves. A sandy beach is located in front of the entrance. A roman legend states that the town of Ostia arose in the same place where, according to the legend glorified by Virgil, landed Aeneas, ancestor of the Latin. Besides of taking in boats, the harbour is a place full of restaurants, shops, coffee-bars and ice-cream parlours...a romantic place to go for a walk in the open air.
 Inside the harbour is located the Lipu organization base, which organizes different kind of activities, such as bird watching and excursions. From the Port of Roma you can easily sail towards Pontine Islands and visit Ponza, Ventotene and Palmarola, or Partenopean islands and visit Capri and Ischia and it’s famous thermal baths, or reach Tuscan Archipelago and sail the waters of the enchanting Giglio Island, Giannutri and Elba Island.
