In the territory of Scarlino,  just a few miles from the island of Elba and the other islands of the Tuscan Arcipelago, in a beautiful coastal stretch, Etrusca Marina (formerly Puntone) is easily accessible by car, train or airport. The Scarlino area overlooks the sea and stretches from the Alma river to the first houses of Follonica, lying on a coast (9 kmts) rich in cliffs and beaches. The hills are covered partly by the Mediterranean scrub and partly by a green meadow scattered with olive trees, vineyards, orchards. These are also old cottages and farms, today all restored, either as real working farm and comfortable holiday cottages. The natural environment is still intact, including the famous coves immediately after Portiglioni, up to the Punta Ala port.
 Those who wish to discover a sand sounding like a violin, can reach Cala Violina either by foot or by bicycle where unexpected, beyond the green landscape, there is the sea: a blue colour in contrast against the white beaches of Cala Violina and Cala Martina in front of the "Isola D"Elba" and the "Sparviero". From Spring to Autumn this wide and clear sheet of water, is animated by yachts and motor boats, leaving the port of Puntone (Etrusca Marina). However Scarlino is also about archaeology and history.

SS n. 1 (Aurelia), exit "Follonica Nord", direction for "Castiglione della Pescaia", until you reach "Puntone".
From Sud:
SS n. 1 (Aurelia), exit "Gavorrano Scalo", proceed towards "Bagni di Gavorrano", towards Castiglione della Pescaia, until you reach "Puntone".
